Whether roaming the Five-Boroughs with his point-and-shoot, or on professional assignment, Bronx native and freelance-photographer Tony Correa has always had an uncanny ability to capture defining images. Mr. Correa's richly textured photographs typically explore the small emotional moments that make up everyday life. And in such work as that of a deflated basketball floating among a tangle of boughs on the Bronx River, the sly smile of groom-to-be, and the stalwart glance of freshman striker, Mr. Correa successfully verbalizes the ineffable sense, or spirit, of a city, which while just on the tip of ones tongue, almost always eludes articulation.
